>> Slangsta-Rap VS Drum&Bass – Round One – Fight!
It’s going to rumble in the jungle…
Activate! On its A-Side, Mainframe Recordings’ first release in 2017 sees prolific label head DisasZt joining forces with sound wizard DubApe to fire off a nice salvo of rave stabs, the very type that’s been driving fellow Hardcore Junglists mental since back in the warehouse days. Enjoy the flashback – it won’t last long. The immediate punch of 2017’s cutting edge drums will take you right back to the present.
Elaborate Build-up science joining in a highly energetic dystopian craze and heavy impact bass growls… This shape-shifting beast was born to wreak havoc on floors worldwide.
Razor, on the the flip side, is coming deep down from the foggy dungeons of dark steppin’ underground. All grim and gritty, with snappy drums funkin’ things up, a gnarly buzzing Reese bass cuts its way through dense sound textures like a rusty razor blade – pure pressure! This one’s going to keep the shadow boxing army under siege.

3rd of September 2016, Vienna, Austria, Arena Club…this is when and where the Mainframe Open Air Festival 2016 took place and it was a blast!
We thought that the best way to keep this memory is to put together an Album from the core Artists performing at the festival, their latest, newest vibes in one bundle of goodness.
Since the compilation features Artists of many subgenres, it is a very versatile and exciting mixture of liquid, jungle, neuro, soulful and more.
It is a very elegant selection that will make you remember the Summer 2016.
This was Mainframe Open Air Festival 2016.
TR Tactics – Illuminate / Dark Universe
Released: 16/09/16 – Beatport Exclusive
TR Tactics is back with their signature powerful sounds and iconic neuro-sounding drum and bass. Renewing their style the well-known Austrian duo is providing us with two tracks where everything is in place.
Illuminate is a track that either makes you run and run fast or it makes you lose your mind on the dance floor, either way you can’t sit calmly when it is blasting in your ears. The clean riffs and hard-hitting drums make this track the forerunner of neu-neuro, which would be a more popular family to the old neuro sounds. Illuminate juxtaposes the traditional sound design of neuro and a more minimalist build-up that makes it flow unstoppably.
Dark Universe on the other hand –nomen est omen- is more classical in the neurofunk sense, it takes us deep into the void, the non-observable, the mysterious. The drums are massive and the track nicely incorporates some techno vibe. The lengthened notes let the listener lose total control.
I can see Milla Jovovich’s determined face going against zombies, outnumbered… Total Resident Evil vibe.

DubApe, one outstanding, peculiar artist of the Mainframe family does for sure stand for
himself releasing two highly energetic tracks with such a grip no one can leave them
This time he moved away from the more deepspace chillout music to making cyber
punkesque neurofunk tracks.
Zero Point featuring Deafblind forces your heart to follow its lead. The frequent pauses and
the high notes mixed with low base perfectly indicate the quantum vacuum zero point
energy. Everything starts here.
AI is definitely a robotic track, full of mind-crashing riffs that give you a post apocalyptic, endof-
The two tracks could easily stand for birth and death, the zero and the end.

Dossa & Locuzzed, the highly appreciated Austrian production duo is out with two fresh and very catchy tracks.
Side A – 24/7 featuring Mc Daxta, Austria’s word-shuffling pride is truly a heartfelt declaration of Love to the Music we’re all livin’, a finely-calibrated, cleverly-written track. Joining forces with Daxta they for sure created a Drum and Bass anthem, that depicts the performance, lets the listener be privy to the actions on stage, feel the energy, the smoke the sweat, the vibe, the bouncing crowd…
The popping lyrics and burning sounds will definitely make you fidget wherever you are!
Side B is a happy healing liquid track that truly soothes the mind with the light vocals, deep bassline and sound effects so satisfying that it couldn’t have received a better title than Magic.
Summer is definitely here!

We proudly welcome back one of our old friends, Receptor! The very talented young Russian producer has already released two tracks on Mainframe Recordings – First off, his track “Flash To Flash” has been on the flipside of Camo & Krooked’s famous single “Vision” (MFR002) – the second track “Cigarette Lighter” was featured on the “Together EP” with records by the likes of DisasZt, BTK, Ruckus Keepers and others.
And now we have a perfect comeback with a 2-track single: “Crossover/Okay” – A great mix between dark, and experimental.
“Crossover”, the single title track is marked by obscure bass lines, quick-fire percussion, striking breaks and finished up by MC Swift’s dusky vocals. The perfect combination for a dark neurofunk track!
On the flipside, “Okay” is a fresh piece of Drum & Bass, influenced by the unique experimental production skills, which Receptor has accomplished during his astonishing career.
